Claws of the Dragon
Outcast Warriors, or er’ka’a’kul (as they refer to themselves), are highland trolls who have left their clans because of a disagreement over a point of honor. Though an outcast’s clan considers him disgraced, he sees himself as having proved his honor by submitting to the ritual known as the Severance (including allowing his horns to be sawed off) rather than giving in to someone else’s opinion.
Important Attributes: Strength, Willpower
Racial Restriction: Trolls
Note: Outcast Warriors almost always begin as adepts of another Discipline. The Ritual of Severance allows a troll to claim Outcast Warrior as his First Discipline, his former Discipline(s) will henceforth be regarded as additional Disciplines.
Karma Ritual: To perform his Karma ritual, the Outcast Warrior holds his weapon before his face and meditates on it for fifteen minutes. Using that weapon, he then performs a stylized ritual set of movements that symbolize combat against a dozen foes. The tempo of this ritual battle starts slowly and steadily accelerates until the Outcast Warrior’s movements become almost a blur. The battle lasts for another fifteen minutes, at the end of which the adept must wipe his sweat from the weapon using his own clothing.
Artisan Skills: Weapon Rune Carving, Wood Carving
Half-Magic: Outcast Warriors can use half-magic when caring for or repairing their weapons and armor, and for knowledge of troll raiding tactics and strategy (recognizing the weaknesses of a target when planning a raid, for instance). Outcast Warriors may also make Willpower-based Half-Magic Tests to defend against social slights made against their honor.
